Johann & Mariėtta Viljoen
| Johann Viljoen is one of the Kumnandi guides. Johann has been a
4x4 Trails and Overland Tourist Guide since 2002. This training was hosted by Masazane Expeditions.
His specialty is Atlantis Dunes and Extreme trails.

Many years ago when Johann was still a youngster living on a farm, he was sent to town
and his father told him "Bring iets mooi terug huis toe". Well, he came home with
Mariėtta much to everyone's surprise. Johann married Mariėtta in Bloemfontein in 1985. They have 3
beautiful children, Mienique (18), Boeta (15) and Ruan (13). Mariėtta is a school teacher at the
Alta Du Toit school for severely mentally handicapped children. |
Johann started his off-roading on his Dad's farm in 1972. The vehicle he was driving
was an old Series I Landrover. Since then he has driven many 4x4's and has eventually settled on his
trusty HiLux.
Johann has been involved with the Western Cape Challenge Club since 2000 and he was the Chairman
of the club from 2002 to 2004. You can still find him at the Western Cape Challenges, just look for
the vehicle with the PA system as Johann is the commentator at most events.
Johann has participated in the last 2 African Off-road Adventures - the last one was the
2 Countries, 3 Days Challenge which took him through the Richtersveld and into Namibia. |

As well as guiding outings for Kumnandi Getaways, Johann has arranged quite a few
Corporate events in the Atlantis Dunes. |
