Kumnandi Getaways was started in Sept 2003 by a group of qualified 4x4 Trails and Overland Tourist Guides. The Xhosa word Kumnandi means nice (“lekker”), and that is why we are doing it! As a group of independent, DEAT (Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism) qualified guides, we have not only invested our own money to become guides, but we have also completed other courses and joined other organizations to further develop our skills and knowledge.

As independent guides our motivation does not revolve around money but around the family and nature with a high regard for safety. We get involved with communities and we also look after the interest and investment of trail owners.

Kumnandi Getaways therefore is not a business nor is it a Club. No Membership fees are payable – in fact, everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the outdoors with us.
